| Abstract | Research related to the aspirations of the Hispanic woman for educational and labor force achievement in relation to her role as wife and mother is presented. The document contains two reports. The first, "Young Hispanics in the United States--Their Aspirations for the Future: Findings from Two National Surveys," is based on analysis of the National Longitudinal Survey of Labor Force Behavior and the High School and Beyond Survey. The aspirations of Hispanic adolescents are profiled and compared with Black and White adolescents. Findings focus primarily on the effect of the interaction between sex and ethnicity on young people's perceptions of their ability to achieve. The second report, "Young Hispanic Mothers Enrolled in School and/or Employed Who Were Interviewed in the National Longitudinal Survey of Labor Force Behavior," reports on a comparison of Hispanic, Black, and White working and/or studying mothers in terms of educational, work, and family status, attitudes, and aspirations.
